Prosecutor wants 10 years of colony for Vneshpormbank’s head

MOSCOW, May 2 (PRIME) – The state prosecutor demanded 10 years of restraint in a standard regime colony and a fine of 400,000 rubles for Larisa Markus, former head of Vneshprombank, under a criminal case of a 114 billion ruble theft, according to information obtained by PRIME in the Moscow Court of the Khamovniki District on Tuesday.

The court is hearing the case under a special procedure, without a study of proofs and with a plea of guilty by Markus. The penalty under the procedure must not exceed two thirds of the maximum possible penalty.

The prosecutors also demanded the court introduce a penalty of five years of restraint in a standard regime colony and a fine of 400,000 rubles for the bank’s former Vice President Yekaterina Glushakova, who also agreed to hearing of the case under the special procedure.

The stolen billions of rubles have not been found yet.
